Something a little less heavy than my last few posts. Physically and mentally I felt strong last week. A little drained this week, but taking care. Back is twinging still, and I’ve been seeing my chiropractor for regular adjustments. Digestion is up and down…some days good, some days achy, some days blocked. Overall, decent and moving forward!
Friday was an AHHHHMAZING portrait maternity session with a fellow YogaFit-er, Nicole. We met in Level 3 training. She is due in June, and absolutely GORGEOUS and glowing! Her little girl, Catherine, came along as well. The portraits will be a surprise for daddy.
Friday night I took a break and sat with my husband while he fiddled with his car. I went through old Yoga Journal magazines and cut out inspirational pictures, words, quotes, thoughts. I’m going to eventually make something with my cuttings… Saturday brought a good workout in the morning and laughs shared with my sister at the gym. Also at the gym, a catch-up with my friend, Scott. After that, errands, and more catching up with my great friend John, who declared that this year would bring the “Summer of Clare,” which will represent a season of true healing for my body and getting back to my real self, rather than what I’ve tried to make myself into. I am more convicted, and excited for summer, rather than worried about when I might “have to” start running or biking again. How about never? I’ll be too busy with my garden anyways…which is what I came home to on Saturday– a busy husband building my raised bed. It is done and ready for soil. More on my gardening adventures to come later. The rest of Saturday was devoted to working on portraits. Which was A-OK, since it was raining all weekend. Saturday dinner was a yummy salmon ginger squash noodle bowl. I sat with Nathan again for an hour in the evening for a break from work.
Sunday brought a good working morning, then cardio on my Stepmill (well, the YMCA owns it, but I OWN that biotch!) Love/hate that beast. It works well for me because it is lower impact, but provides GREAT cardio. Also, it is one of those machines that “make you go” the pace you set. And no twisting or flopping of my legs, I can control the movement to protect my back.
The rest of Sunday, after I hit up Target (check out my new head scarf below!), was devoted to my yoga bolster project. 5 hours and 2 pattern re-cuts later, I present the most hideous yoga bolster of all time.
Sunday night was an easy dinner of soup pulled from the freezer, and salad.
Worked the rest of Sunday evening and managed a yoga quickie from Padmani Yoga Podcasts. Weekend = good. Good work, good relationships, good personal time, good GOD!
The only bad…I miss my mom and dad. They are on the road…left in the RV for a long spring trip.

Sounds like you’re in a good mood. That noodly dish would definitely make me happy
I read that foot article you sent me – so cool. I actually have flat feet but I’ve noticed a bit of arch improvement since I started yoga.
I recently found a love for the stepper at my gym. It’s not the stair kind (which I love and prefer) but it’s still fun.
Happy Tuesday!
